A series of braids. I was interested in the idea of why someone may cut off their hair after growing it for so long. A long time ago I also had long hair and found it very difficult tog et a job..all because of the length of my hair!

I thought of a woman cutting her long hair after having a new baby, because it was easier to manage...a Chinese man in the 1900s cutting off his long hair to assimilate into a different society.... a woman in Thailand growing her long black hiar so she can sell it to a wig maker...a youth saying goodbye to his hippy days so he could get a real job....

I will spend a bit more time on this theme, I thought it may be a good idea for a small exhibition.
